At the beginning of 2019, St Lucia’s Church in Upton Magna received a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund which enabled major restoration work to begin in the Spring of this year.
Essential structural repairs to the roof, ceiling, tower and drainage plus the installation of heating have already been completed.
Following the closure of the church over last winter and the beginning of this year for restoration work, the Harvest Festival service held on the 27th October was the first to be held this year.
Acorn Waste Management were only too pleased to support the service on Sunday with members of staff donating produce and decoration for three of the windows in the church ahead of Sunday.
A special thank you should go to Caroline and Leanne with their driver Pete for their amazing window decorating skills.
Thank you all for your donations and for helping to support our local community.
