Site Segregation

Space is a premium on most construction sites so on-site segregation is difficult if not impossible on some sites. On sites where space is plentiful it can be beneficial to segregate waste using specific skips for specific wastes.

The benefits are:

  • Single waste stream skips are cheaper than a mixed waste skip.
  • Reuse opportunities will increase.
  • Recycling rates will increase.
  • Waste reporting will be far more accurate with less dependence on transfer facility reporting.
  • It encourages site personnel to segregate.

It is advisable to elect a site waste champion, trained in waste management. This would avoid the possibility of waste cross contamination which would negate any savings made from segregation.

Talk to us about the benefits in greater detail.

On Site Segregation

  • Landfill charges are increasing every year, on-site segregation drives down the cost of waste.
  • Segregating your waste will bring huge benefits to your business. At Acorn Waste Management, our aim is to help your business recycle its waste quickly and efficiently through effective waste segregation.
  • We have a nationwide network of recycling centres and transfer stations giving us the choice and flexibility to source the ideal solution for you. At Acorn Waste Management, we work with you to keep the costs down.

Benefits of Site Segregation

  • Cut down on your direct costs.
  • Maximise space.
  • Minimise the cross-contamination of waste in a mixed skip.
  • Less to landfill, cutting down on the production of harmful greenhouse waste.
  • Save energy by recycling waste into new products, rather than it going to landfill.
  • Reuse clean wood.
