Wheelie Bin provision for major roads maintenance contract

Key Project Deliverables

Starting in July 2013 Acorn Waste Management were asked to deliver on the following requirements:

  • Fly Tipping issues
  • Health & Safety Issues - Vermin
  • Excess waste
  • Various locations
  • 1 week to resolve issue before potential loss of contract

Project Objectives

Acorn waste are a preferred supplier for Integral and were approached to resolve an issue where wheelie bins at roadside locations were being over filled (potentially with fly tipped waste).  Waste was also being left beside the bins causing vermin issues.

The issue was occurring at a variety of locations creating a mass of waste that required immediate attention.

Due to contractual issues, Acorn were tasked to provide a quick, compliant and cost-effective solution to ensure continuity of service.

Proposed Solutions

  • Site surveys at 3 locations undertaken by Acorn staff within 24 hrs of enquiry to assess the risk.
  • Provision of lockable Wheelie bins that Integral staff only have access to.
  • Excess waste to be removed
  • 24/7 Fly Tipped waste solution to be put in place
  • All Compliance and documentation ticked off via Acorn Vision

Project Summary

This particular project was completed within the set 1-week deadline.

Due to Acorn Waste Management’s exceptional service and compliance throughout the project we have secured further work from different areas of the Integral business further enhancing our relationship.
